The promotional blitz around Paul McCartney's highly acclaimed New album continued today with a new music video that he shot with (cough) a little help from his friends.
The clip for "Queenie Eye" was filmed at Abbey Road Studios earlier this month and sees him recording the track in what he thinks is an empty studio (Studio 2). As the video progresses, hijinks ensue in the form of surprising celebrity cameos including Jude Law, Meryl Streep, Tracy Ullman, Jeremy Irons, Tom Ford, Chris Pine, Alice Eve and–much to the delight of the paparazzi–former paramours Johnny Depp and Kate Moss.
The song, which is one of the four McCartney performed at his recent impromptu gig in New York's Times Square, is based on a chant he remembered from his childhood. In a statement, McCartney recalls "It came from a street game I use to play as a kid. Those kind of things always stick with you. I always liked the rhythm of the chant."
In the behind the scenes video, you can watch behind-the-scenes footage, including Paul playing the Beatles' "Lady Madonna" on the piano he originally recorded the song on. Singer/songwriter Jack Savoretti, who has also recorded at Abbey Road, says that he'd thought that Paul recorded "Rocky Raccoon" on that piano, but McCartney corrected him. McCartney also sweetly recalls being "terrified out of my wits" while recording "Love Me Do" in the same room the video is being shot in.

Con el piano como principal instrumento, sentado en un gran salón, McCartney comienza a cantar mientras que la alfombra del lugar se va llenando de artistas que emocionados, bailan o siguen el ritmo de la canción con su cuerpo, convirtiendo la escena en una gran fiesta.
El primero en aparecer en escena es Johhny Depp, quien con una expresión pensativa sigue la música que suena en sus audífonos. A lo largo del clip aparecen famosos del cine británico como Jeremy Irons, Jude Law, la ganadora del Oscar Meryl Streep, así como la guapa Kate Moss.
"Estar en ese cuarto, y especialmente con Paul es bastante emocionante porque es el cuarto que cambió el mundo", dijo Johnny Depp en el Making Of del video. "Tener una colección de obras maestras bajo el cinturón y con la pasión con la que él lo ha hecho durante todo este tiempo... [significa que] esto siempre es nuevo para él; todavía se emociona al respecto y siempre es curioso", agregó.
El cantante inglés no para de sorprender a sus fans, y es que fue hace unas semanas cuando ofreció un concierto sorpresa en Central Park de Nueva York.
