Robert Plant has found some long-lost Led Zeppelin recordings – including two tracks with John Paul Jones singing lead – and he jokes he faces a fight with Jimmy Page to get them on to the forthcoming Zepplin box sets.
New quotes from Plant have emerged that are offering the exciting information about the much-anticipated release after he stumbled across some old spools.

Percy says: "I found some quarter-inch spools recently, and I had a meeting with Jimmy, and we backed them up and listened to them, and there's some very, very interesting bits and pieces that probably will turn up on these things."

Led Zeppelin Box Sets May Include Recently Discovered Recordings  10/21/2013

Robert Plant has found some long-lost Led Zeppelin recordings – including two tracks with bassist/keyboardist John Paul Jones singing lead. Plant jokes that he now faces a fight with Jimmy Page to get them on to forthcoming Zeppelin boxsets.
Plant says: "I found some quarter-inch spools recently, and I had a meeting with Jimmy, and we backed them up and listened to them, and there's some very, very interesting bits and pieces that probably will turn up on these things.

"I'm desperately trying to get this one track – or the two tracks of John Paul Jones singing lead. And so far [Jimmy] is up to giving me two cars and a greenhouse not to get them on the album," he said. "Oh, John, wherever you are… you can't wait to hear yourself singing all over the world! La la la la la la la…"

In 2012, Page told Mojo, "There are a number of Led Zeppelin projects that will come out next year because there are different versions of tracks that we have that can be added to the album so there will be boxsets of material that will come out, starting next year. There will be one boxset per album with extra music that will surface." A more likely release date is now 2014.
