Phill Collins planea reunión con Genesis y gira por Sudamérica
El músico británico de brillante carrera con la banda, así como solista, afirmó a un diario alemán que está con ganas de reunirse y también de armar un nuevo disco.
Dos importantes noticias podrían recibir los fanáticos del mítico músico inglés Phill Collins.
En 2014 podría haber una reunión de Collins con los otros miembros de la desaparecida banda Genesis, así como una posible gira por Sudamérica.
"Todo es posible. Quizá nos vayamos de gira por Australia y América del Sur. Nunca estuvimos allí", dijo Phill Collins al diario alemán Bild am Sonntag.
El creador de "Another day in paradise" también afirmó que podía eventualmente aparecer un nuevo trabajo para el siguiente año: "Estoy con ganas de volver a hacer un par de shows".
El multiinstrumentista se refirió también a la relación que mantiene con sus hijos, por los que se alejó de los escenarios en 2010 pero que debió dejar de ver ya que su ex mujer se volvió a casar y se mudó a Miami.
"Cuando se fueron no supe qué hacer con mi vida", reconoció Collins, quien reside en Suiza.
Collins considers Genesis reunion
Phil Collins is thinking about coming out of retirement – and he says a Genesis reunion is possible as a result.
The singer and drummer bowed out in 2011, explaining: “I am stopping so I can be a full-time father to my two young sons on a daily basis.”
Other reports had suggested he was unable to perform due to back problems caused by years of bad posture on the drumstool, meaning he had to have his sticks taped to his hands.
But now, speaking to German press via the Guardian, Collins says: “I have started thinking about doing new stuff. Some shows again, even with Genesis. Everything is possible.
“We could tour in Australia and South America. We haven’t been there yet.”
The 62-year-old adds that he’s ignored pressure from his manager to do more work – but he’s been motivated by the the fact that his sons, 12 and 8, want him to return to the stage.
Collins played his last show in 2010, but his most recent appearance with Genesis was in 2007. Later plans to stage classic album The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway with Peter Gabriel were shelved after the original frontman felt the project was growing out of control.
