Iron Maiden have topped music industry magazine Billboard’s Hot Tours list, ahead of Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber.
The metal legends reached the top spot with $19 million (US$) in box office revenue reported from its Maiden England summer European tour.
Ticket sales from 13 venues in seven countries were reported this week beginning with a sold out performance on May 29 at Lisbon's Pavilhão Atlântico.
Altogether from 14 concerts, attendance totaled 259,298. Included in that count is a sellout crowd of 55,531 at a football stadium, Friends Arena, in the Stockholm suburb of Solna, Sweden.
Iron Maiden wrap up their European dates with two homecoming shows at the O2 Arena in London early next month.
Following the O2, the band will take a short break before playing North America, then Latin American stadiums and the Rock In Rio festival in September, and will finish the tour off with a return to the Estadio Nacional in Chile on October 2.
