Primus has reunited with Tim "Herb" Alexander, who is returning to the band following the exit of Jay Lane. Today we have details about what the new lineup have planned including a new album and a special live appearance.
The band, featuring the early 90s era line up of Alexander, Les Claypool and Larry "Ler" LaLonde, announced that they will be hitting the studio in November to begin work on a new studio album.

Fans will be able to witness the live return of Alexander when the band take the stage to play a special New Years Eve show at the Fox Theater in Oakland.
Meanwhile, Claypool will also be keeping busy this fall and hitting the road with Duo De Twang. He announced that he has finished work on the group's new album which is expected to be released early next year.
Claypool will also be performing with Tom Waits at this year's Bridge School Benefit at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA. The event will be taking place on October 27th and will mark Waits' first live set in five years.
Primus says that they intend to tour behind their forthcoming album next summer and fall. Until then, here are the Duo De Twang tour dates:

Buenas noticias para los fans de Primus. El grupo encabezado por el conocido bajista y vocalista Les Claypool parece que tiene planes de futuro próximos. Según ha comentado Les habrá un nuevo álbum de estudio que podría empezar a gestarse en noviembre de este año aunque no esté todavía claro del todo y no haya una fecha fecha fija de lanzamiento por el momento.

Otra de las exclusivas de interés que ha ofrecido el músico en una entrevista para Rolling Stone es que Tim “Herb” Alexander volverá a reunirse con la formación. El baterista, que ha grabado anteriormente con A Perfect Circle y ha estado centrado hasta el momento con Puscifer, podría ser partícipe de ese posible nuevo trabajo de estudio de la banda y de abrir una nueva etapa en Primus volviendo a completar la formación más conocida y exitosa de los californianos, la de 1989 en adelante. Con respecto a Jay Lane, encargado de empuñar las baquetas en 1988 y de 2010 hasta la actualidad, volverá a reunirse con RatDog, el supergrupo liderado por el músico Bob Weir, legendario personaje conocido por su excelente trabajo con Grateful Dead.
Lejos de quedar la cosa aquí, se sabe que habrá disco debut de Duo de Twang (proyecto paralelo de Claypool) y una respectiva gira (destaca un concierto con Tom Waits el próximo 27 de octubre). También tenemos noticias de que podría estar cerca un reencuentro de Oysterhead y que en fechas venideras llegará a las librerías un libro con la historia completa de Primus (esperemos que en varios idiomas).
